Nick Sweet is a trombone/trumpet player based in Portland, Oregon. Nick showed an early interest in music. He began playing the trumpet and piano - later switching to trombone, and was exposed to Portland’s jazz scene with the help of Thara Memory. When Nick received a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music, he moved east, where he lived for three years, studying with Phil Wilson, Hal Crook, and making other valuable connections. During that time, he was fortunate to perform alongside McCoy Tyner, Dave Douglas, Maria Schneider, and Joe Lovano. Nick picked up the trumpet again, and is now involved in various projects in Portland.
